The present study was conducted to examine the impact of gender on the self-satisfaction level of secondary school students. Self-satisfaction is an important psychological construct that contributes to emotional well-being, self-confidence, mental health, and overall personality development. In the present educational context, understanding factors influencing self-satisfaction is essential for promoting students’ holistic development and adjustment. Therefore, the study aimed to determine whether gender has a significant effect on the self-satisfaction level of secondary school students. The study was conducted in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. A sample of 200 secondary school students was selected through random sampling, comprising 100 boys and 100 girls. Data were collected using a self-constructed questionnaire developed by the researcher to assess students’ self-satisfaction. The tool was prepared after reviewing relevant literature and consulting experts in education and psychology. The collected data were analyzed using statistical techniques such as mean, standard deviation, and independent samples t-test. The findings revealed a significant difference in self-satisfaction levels between boys and girls. Female students were found to have higher self-satisfaction scores compared to male students. The results indicate that gender plays a significant role in influencing self-satisfaction among secondary school students. The study concludes that gender has a meaningful impact on students’ self-satisfaction levels. The findings emphasize the need for a supportive school environment that promotes emotional well-being and positive self-perception among adolescents. The results may be useful for teachers, parents, counselors, and educational planners in designing interventions to enhance students’ psychological well-being.
