Each article published in ShodhGyan-NU: Journal of Literature and Culture Studies contributes toward the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By engaging with religion and theology, history and archaeology, philosophy and ethics, language acquisition, literature, and linguistics—across Hindi and English—the journal connects humanities research with real-world social, cultural, and political challenges.

ShodhGyan-NU particularly advances:

SDG 4: Quality Education- Through studies on language acquisition, literary pedagogy, teacher attitudes, and educational thought—such as work on integrated B.Ed. curricula, English teachers’ perceptions of AI tools, and Tolstoy’s folk pedagogy—supporting more reflective and inclusive education systems.

SDG 5: Gender Equality- By exploring representations of gender and power in literature and culture—for example, analyses of man–woman relationships and mother–daughter dynamics—highlighting inequalities and envisioning more just and equitable gender relations.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities- By amplifying diverse voices and perspectives across regions, languages, religions, and communities, including tribal ethnographies and cross-cultural literary studies, thereby challenging marginalization and fostering dialogue across differences.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities- Through work on cultural memory, local histories, and heritage spaces—such as historical studies of temples and archaeology—supporting the preservation and critical understanding of cultural heritage within contemporary societies.

SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions- By examining political history, moral and legal philosophy, and the role of religion and ideology in public life—for instance, research on the rise of non-Congress governments in Indian politics and ethical questions in times of crisis—contributing to informed, democratic, and just societies.

We welcome submissions from researchers, students, educators, practitioners, and independent scholars working in literature and culture studies and allied disciplines. By supporting rigorous, peer-reviewed work from multiple intellectual traditions and personal perspectives, ShodhGyan-NU fosters critical reflection and cross-cultural understanding that help advance the SDGs at local, national, and global levels.
